A recipient of the Arts and Science Council grant, which led to the recording of The Moons of Jupiter, and winner of the first annual ASCAP young jazz composer award, his latest composition, Mirage Mountain, was commissioned by the Brouge Quartet, and premiered in Canada in 2020.
In 2022 Maxwell partnered with Music Medic and performs exclusively on the Wilmington Alto Saxophone.
